MyDynScreen
macOS 14 and later · Apple silicon & Intel

One scene, across every display.

Hand it a video. It cuts the picture to the exact geometry of your displays and sets it as your desktop. Not three copies side by side: one continuous image, and it moves.

  • One continuous image instead of three crops
  • The same file is both wallpaper and screen saver
  • One profile per desktop, picking up where it left off

Free, tip if you like. Signed and notarised by Apple · no account · no telemetry

Your displays stop being three windows.

They become one surface again — and something is happening on it.

The difference, in one click

What macOS does, and what MyDynScreen does.

After. One continuous view: the Sahara on the left, the Indian Ocean in the middle, Indonesia on the right. The bezels cut through it — they don't repeat it.

The app

What it does, plainly.

It really moves.

Not a slideshow: the video plays behind your icons, decoded in hardware, one pass shared across every display.

Cut to the real geometry

One tile per display, computed from the frames and scale factors the system actually reports.

Retina and non-Retina, mixed

Grade it by eye

Mood, contrast, warmth: you adjust by looking at the picture, never by typing a number.

Live preview

One profile per desktop

Each keeps its own. It comes alive when you arrive, and stops when you leave.

Identified by UUID, never by position

Wallpaper and screen saver, one file.

No colour seam when it kicks in, no manual setting to fiddle with.

Profiles you can export

One file holds everything, and applies as-is on another Mac — even without the original video.

And when you come back, it's still there.

You lock the screen, you go for lunch, you return. The scene didn't start over: it kept going without you. That's the detail no screenshot can show.

What the app doesn't do

  • No telemetry. Nothing is counted, nothing is sent. The only network call is the update check, and you can switch it off.
  • No account. You download it, you open it, you use it.
  • Nothing is broken without a way back. Every system setting it takes is saved first, and handed back exactly as it was.
  • No obligation to pay. The app is free. If it earns its place, you can leave a tip.
Getting started

A video goes in. A living desktop comes out.
